AL WAKRAH SHELL
The famous Al Wakra Shell anthropomorphic has a great symbolic for people of Al Wakra, which located in the south of Doha and is best known for fishing and pearling. The anthropomorphic was constructed in the late 1980s of the last century, and installed in the main roundabout of the entrance of Al Wakra to gain inspiration from the history of this serene coastal city. After more than 30 years, particularly in 2019, the roundabout was removed to transform it to traffic intersections. Due to the great importance of this monument in the souls of Al Wakra people, it was moved to Al Wakra old market to keep the cultural heritage of the country.
The shell monument is an art monument that distinguishes the identity of the region, and its own coastal nature.
